Eight young players from Bullseye Darts Academy in South Shields are preparing to represent the academy on the world stage after securing their places at the JDC World Darts Championships in Gibraltar.
The talented youngsters earned their places following an impressive performance at the England JDC qualifiers in Bristol, where they competed against some of the country’s best youth darts players.
Their qualification marks another major milestone for the Fowler Street academy, which has continued to go from strength to strength since opening just over a year ago.
The players will head to Gibraltar in November to compete against some of the world’s top young darts talent as they bid for international success.
Academy founder Ali Sezer said the achievement was an emotional moment for everyone involved.
“The atmosphere all weekend was unbelievably emotional for all the lads, myself, and my wife. Everyone took it in their own way, but one thing was certain – the boys were absolutely phenomenal.
“Watching them achieve their dream was one of the proudest moments of our lives. The experience tested every one of them, but I always knew they had what it took. They showed incredible determination, teamwork, and character throughout.
“I couldn’t be prouder of every single one of them. It’s been a privilege to watch them grow into the players and young people they are today.
“Now we look forward to the next chapter as they head to Gibraltar. I have no doubt they’ll continue to shine just as they did this weekend. Good luck, lads – you’ve made us all incredibly proud.”
As excitement builds ahead of the tournament, Bullseye Darts Academy is now appealing to local businesses to help support the players on their journey.
The academy is seeking sponsorship from businesses across South Tyneside and the surrounding area to help fund the youngsters’ trip to Gibraltar, giving them the opportunity to compete against the very best youth darts players from around the world.
Ali said any support, big or small, would make a huge difference and help ensure the players can focus on enjoying the experience and representing both the academy and the region with pride.
