I recently visited Ferry View, and it’s quickly become one of my favourite little spots in the area.

Perfectly positioned facing the South Shields Ferry Landing, the location alone makes it stand out. It’s such a great setting especially on warmer days where you can sit outside, enjoy the fresh air, and take in the views while watching the ferry come and go. There’s something really relaxing about it, and it gives the place a laid-back, almost holiday-like feel right here in South Shields.

It’s also incredibly convenient. Whether you’re stopping off before or after getting the ferry, out for a walk along the river, or just meeting friends for a catch-up, it fits perfectly into any kind of day. A bonus is the free parking right next to it, which makes it even easier to pop by without any hassle, something that definitely adds to its appeal.

The drink selection is one of the biggest highlights. There’s a wide variety to choose from, including coffees, lattes, and more unique options like matcha, which seem to be some of the most popular choices. With a range of flavours and eye-catching presentation, it’s easy to see why they’re such a hit – perfect for anyone who enjoys trying something a bit different.

I decided to try the pink Barbie vanilla latte, and it didn’t disappoint. It looked amazing, colourful and fun, but more importantly, it tasted just as good. It was smooth, refreshing, and a nice twist on a classic latte.

On the food side, they offer options like Dutch fries, which seem to be a favourite, and açaí bowls that looked both filling and packed with flavour. Everything coming out looked fresh, vibrant, and well put together, which makes you want to go back and try more from the menu.

What really makes Ferry View special is the overall atmosphere. It’s relaxed, welcoming, and has that social feel where people can sit, chat, and enjoy their time without feeling rushed. You can see it attracting all kinds of people from walkers and ferry passengers to groups of friends making the most of the outdoor space.

It’s also clear that the place is growing in popularity, and rightly so. With the space in front of it and the steady flow of customers, you can easily imagine it expanding in the future to keep up with demand.

Overall, Ferry View is a fantastic addition to South Shields. Great drinks, a unique setting, and an enjoyable atmosphere. It’s the kind of place you’ll find yourself coming back to, especially when the weather’s on your side.
